Phileas Fogg's Time Machine

Phileas Fogg: Millionaire, inventor, philanthropist and, unbeknown to the rest of the world, a member of a benevolent species of aliens called the Eridaneans.

Fogg's well documented wager to transverse the world in 80 days was almost lost due to his failure to adjust his timekeeping for having crossed the International Date Line.

With his eventual successful outcome, the seed of traveling through the fabic of time was lain within his mind. The project to construct a 'Chronitron machine' as he termed it would cost Fogg his marriage and his fortune but success eventually came in late 1880. The abilities of early versions of the machine were sporadic at best, with Fogg and Passepartout able to conduct short jumps to the past and for only limited periods. It wasn't until September 1881 that the pair were finally able to make contact with the Eridaneans of the distant future, who assisted Fogg in perfecting the device. As well as enabling Fogg to fully control the direction of time travel, they also bestowed the craft with the ability to contain itself within an impenitrable force field that would phase it outside of our realm of existance and re-phase it in any location desired by the pilot. The version shown here is the early version before any of the alien modifications were added.
