Federation Carrier Starship USS Valkyrie Bridge 3 by calamitySi Federation Carrier Starship USS Valkyrie Bridge 3 by calamitySi
This is the bridge for my Federation Carrier ship, the U.S.S. Valkyrie.

This is without a doubt, the largest and most ambitious bridge that I have ever attempted to date. The Valkyrie is a massive carrier starship, so I wanted to reflect that with a huge bridge with loads of work stations. As this is set in the post-Nemesis era, I have updated the consoles to include floating holographic displays. The bridge also has a large holographic tactical situation table at the front, where officers can get real-time tactical displays of their current situation. The Captain's chair and pilot stations are on a raised platform which is accessed from the rear turbolift by a bridge/walkway. Under the walkway is the engineering 'pit' (similar to the one featured in DS9's Ops, where engineers can access vital systems.  I made two versions, one  'closed roof' version and also an 'open roof' version so that the general layout is more visible. Created in Sketchup and rendered in Kerkythea.

While it certainly *looks* Star Trek-y Federation-esque, it doesn't *feel* remotely Starfleet....

"That's a big ship"

"Not nearly as big as her captain"

;)

Awesome picture. Are you going to make a diagram of what every station controls/is?

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I was a bit nervous about how well this would be received, but I'm so glad you all like it.

love this bridge. I thought this would make a great bridge for my Saratoga Class Carrier as well. :) If it were the standard modular design.

Wow!
I ocassionally dabble in sketchup myself so huge applause for creating something this complex. That must've been a ton of work!
Somethings odd about the shadows, though. Are you using two light sources? The way I know sketchup all shadows fall in one direction and the barriers around the holo table are not.

Design wise I would rather built my carrier operations center (to control the flight operations) and the bridge (to control the ship and the immediate battlezone around it) separate but that's personal choice, I guess. This way here you won't have communication problems when the flight ops suddenly realizes that the single scout they ignored was a cloaked swarm of bombers and the message gets lost somewhere along the way to the bridge.
